Our Services

Milestone Pediatrics offers a full range of services to our patients and their families.

Emergencies

If an emergency should arise, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Emergencies are considered to be those conditions that are life-threatening: loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, seizure, etc. In the case of minor emergencies (lacerations, cuts, mild fractures, sprains), please call our office (630-420-4275) first for instructions.

Walk-Ins

We discourage patients from walking into the office and requesting to be seen without an appointment. We value your time! We do not like to keep people waiting, so we schedule patients accordingly. We try to save plenty of appointment times to accommodate same day sick visits. Our receptionists will gladly assist you with scheduling an appointment for your child.

After Hours

There is always a Milestone provider on call after hours. The on call provider takes urgent/emergency calls from their homes after hours.
Should you need to reach the on call provider, please call the After Hours number: 630-364-1677.

Please save routine questions (mild illness, appointments, prescription refills) for the when the office is open. Our staff is available Mon-Thurs from 8:30-7pm, Friday 8:30-5pm and Sat 9am-12pm to assist you.

Our website also has helpful information regarding medication dosing, minor illnesses and injuries.

Well Child Visit

Due to the large number of school, sport and camp physicals that we perform during the summer months, please call and schedule your appointment as early as possible so that you will have the greatest number of times and dates from which to choose from.
*Please note that a parent or legal guadian needs to be present during well exam visits.
The recommended well visit schedule is as follows:

School physicials are required for entrance into preschool, kindergarten, 6th grade, and high school.
A parent/legal guradian must accompany child to all well child visits.
Milestone Pediatrics strictly follows the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended vaccine and well child exam schedule.

Sick Child Visits

We make every effort to schedule appointments for ill children on the day you call us. We encourage you to call as early in the day as possible for sick visits. We have a dedicated and well-trained staff of Triage Nurses to advise you on illness care and help you determine if a visit is necessary. If you have a medical emergency during office hours, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

If you would like us to see more than one child, please schedule an appointment for ALL children needing to be seen. This allows the provider to spend appropriate time with your child and have his or her chart available for review.   Without an appointment, we may not be able to see a sibling, and/or you may be asked to wait while the provider sees a scheduled patient who may be waiting.

In the event a parent/legal guradian is unable to attend the child's sick visit:
Written authorization is required for the person authorized to accompany your child for medical treatment and to make medical decisions.

Appointments

To help provide timely service to our patients, we prefer to schedule all patient visits. If you are late for your appointment, we will try to work you back into the schedule, or perhaps offer an appointment to you with another provider. Out of courtesy to our other patients, we may need to ask you to reschedule your appointment.

Scheduling of multiple family members, each child needs to be scheduled in an individual appointment slot so that the provider will have time to address their needs. We will make every attempt to schedule famly members in consecutive appointment slots. However, we request that you schedule no more than 2 family members at the same time.

If you would like us to see more than one child, please schedule an appointment for ALL children to be seen. This allows the provider to spend appropriate time with your child and have his or her chart available for review.   Without an appointment, we may not be able to see a sibling, and/or you may be asked to wait while the provider sees a scheduled patient.

All patients on ADD or other mental health medications require a follow up visit within 30 days of initial perscription and then a MINIMUM of every 6 months thereafter. Your child may need to come in sooner if there are concerns.

** ADD medications are controlled substances and need to be monitored, especially during your child's growing years.  Without timely follow up visits your medication cannot be filled.

Saturday visits are reserved for same day sick children.
